What’s not working around metro Atlanta
New item: DOT (Gwinnett)
Pam DiMaio is concerned about the appearance of the expressways on the northern side of the metro area.
She said there is garbage from I-285 West to I-285 East along the Greenville exit to I-85.
“You would think that the DOT and the city would do a much better job of keeping it up as this is ‘somewhat’ a gateway for locals and visi- tors alike and that the city would take more pride in it,” she wrote.

Update: Atlanta (Fulton)
Last year, we told you
about Art Chapple’s hopes that something could be done about an unsightly
power pole in Atlanta. “(This) device is hanging over the sidewalk from a
power pole at 330 Hillside Drive NW, Chapel wrote.
He said he has made calls to different jurisdictions, but has not received any answers.
We sent the issue to the city to see if they could help resolve the issue. Atlanta officials emailed us last week they would check on the status of the issue.

Update: Atlanta
Late last year, we also told you about Anat Halperin’s issue with a leak in the city.
own a small rental on the corner of 344 Fourth St.
and Durant Place. A fresh water service pipe busted in early November on the city’s side of the sidewalk and we have been calling the city daily for a repair. The water is leaking from the edge of the sidewalk and basically flooding my yard and the pavement for months,” Halperin said.
Halperin said the constant leak has created a small sinkhole in the front yard where the earth has washed away. “When we call the city
and report a request for repair we are told the repair will occur in a minimum of eight weeks. While we are waiting on the repair, which is now much longer than eight weeks, clean water is leaking at taxpayer expense for months with no sense of urgency from the city,” Halperin added.
