THINGS TO DO TURN MONDAY INTO FUNDAY WITH THESE ACTIVITIES

Sigh.

If this Monday feels particularly tough, you’re not alone.

That pleasant July 4th buzz is but a memory now (seriously, it’s way past time to take off that AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirt). And the three-day Labor Day weekend is still an awfully long way off.

So what’s a summer funlovin’ person to do about it?

Here are three ideas we’ve rounded up to turn this blah Monday into Funday, at least for a little while (and we were just kidding about the T-shirt. You can wear it as long as you want).

Fox Theatre tour

If you thought scoring “Hamilton” tickets in Atlanta somehow made you an expert on the fabulous Fox Theatre, guess again. The circa-1929 palace of the arts that once survived the wrecking ball thanks to a dramatic campaign waged by Atlanta’s citizenry has seen enough drama and big names to fill the pipes on its Mighty Mo’ organ. Hear about when Elvis and Dylan and the Stones played the Fox, visit the orchestra pit and get a gander at that oneof-a-kind starry ceiling and learn more delicious behindthe-scenes details of Atlanta’s treasured theater. Roswell Summer PuppetSeries: ‘The Reluctant Dragon’

Monday is your first chance to see this charming and colorful production about a girl named Penelope who loves to read about dragons and winds up meeting one! OK, so the “girl” is actually a princess and her becoming buds with a dragon is just the start of a tale that involves a dragon slayer, a king used to getting his way and much more. Loosely based on the book of the same name, this allpuppets production is partially funded by a 2008 Jim Henson Foundation Family Grant. 10 a.m. Monday-July 14 (1:30 p.m. matinees on Wednesday and Friday). $5 for ages 2 and older. An appearance in Purgatory that’ll be heavenly music to a lot of people’s ears. The poppunk rockers out of Chicago are turning heads with their latest release “Evermore.” Now they’re headlining this show in Purgatory at the Masquerade that also features sets by Hot Mulligan, Heart Attack Man and Jetty Bones.
