Q: Can you give me more information on the Brill family and their child? —James Barber, Buckhead

A: Suzeanna and Matthew Brill, a Twiggs County couple arrested on charges of reckless conduct in April for giving marijuana to their teenage son for medical use, were reunited with their son on July 2, the AJC reported.

David Ray, 15, had suffered from seizures since he was a child. The family said smoking marijuana was helping them stop, the AJC previously reported.

The Brills were jailed for six days, and their son was placed in a group home by the Division of Family and Children Services until July 2, the AJC said. While Suzeanna and Matthew Brill were in jail, David Ray had no access to marijuana and was hospitalized for a week following a severe seizure.

Marijuana is illegal under Georgia law, but David Ray has been prescribed Epidiolex, a recently approved cannabis-based treatment, his parents told the AJC.
