Obituary: Darryl Rogers, who coached Michigan State to a share of the Big Ten title in 1978 and later took the helm for the Detroit Lions, died at 83. Rogers coached Michigan State from 1976-79, going 24-18-2. Rogers also coached at Arizona State from 1980-84 before heading to the NFL. He was with the Lions from 1985-88.

MLB: Brewers first baseman Jesus Aguilar and Mariners shortstop Jean Segura won the final two roster spots for next week’s All-Star Game in Washington. MLB released the results of online balloting for the last slot in each league, with Aguilar drawing 20.2 million votes to secure his first All-Star selection. Segura snagged the last AL spot with 13.6 million votes.

NHL: The Blackhawks traded Marian Hossa and Vinnie Hinostroza to the Coyotes, parting with a promising young forward in order to clear out a troublesom­e contract. The 39-year-old Hossa did not play last season because of severe side effects from medication and isn’t expected to play again, but is signed through 202021 at a $5.275 million cap hit.

NBA: Former Knicks star Charles Oakley is accused of gambling fraud at a Las Vegas casino. Oakley was arrested Sunday at the Cosmopolit­an and is suspected of “adding to or reducing his wager” on a game after the outcome was known, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Oakley was booked and released from jail.
