Grateful Dead fans are renowned for their loyalty and longevity.

(And for making tie-dye T-shirts seem cool, so, thanks for Casual Fridays at work, guys!)

But, will Deadheads, who followed the band from Whisky a Go Go and Psychedelic Supermarket to the muddy fields at Woodstock be able to handle this?

A movie theater meet-up.

On Aug. 1, the Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies will be truckin’ nationwide, including in seven theaters in and around metro Atlanta.

No, the remaining band members aren’t reuniting, though it’s the next best thing: a screening of the band’s epic July 7, 1989, show at Philadelphia’s John F. Kennedy Stadium.

The nearly three-hour show on one of the hottest days of the year was the final concert ever performed at the legendary “JFK.” Dead members Jerry Garcia, Mickey Hart, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Brent Mydland closed it out with a brilliant cover version of Bob Dylan’s “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.”

Wish you’d been there? Well, now you can be, sort of — with much comfy-er indoor stadium seating and a reserved order of Cheetos popcorn to boot (we’re not making that up; you can pre-order concessions when you purchase your $13.61 tickets).

The show begins at 7 p.m. at the following metro Atlanta locations: Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18, Atlanta; Regal Perimeter Pointe 10, Atlanta; Regal Avalon 12, Alpharetta; Regal Hollywood 24, Chamblee; AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18, Lawrenceville; Regal McDonough Stadium 16, McDonough; and Regal Georgian Stadium 14, Newnan.
