Mrs. Martha Avon Wright (100) of Snellville, Georgia (Centervill­e Community) passed away July 27, 2018. She was the widow of Augustus Butler Wright. She is survived by two sons and daughters -in-law, William Butler (Bill) and wife Lee, of Athens, Georgia; John Randolph and wife Mary Lynn of Snellville; grandchild­ren, Wendy W. Risse of Laramie, Wyoming, Shelby L. Wright of Athens, Georgia, Heidi Leigh Wright of Snellville and James William "Jim-Bo" Wright of Snellville, Georgia and brother-in-law, Charles F. Leslie of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Polly S. Stallings and Jeanette F. Leslie and two brothers, W.L. Smith, Jr. and Pete Smith.

She was a very loving and giving wife, mother and grandmothe­r and a good friend to the community. Avon was a very active member of Glen Haven Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia where she was the Senior Adult Director. Avon and her late husband loved to travel and had been many places, and most importantl­y their family enjoyed more than anything was spending time with the family.

Avon enjoyed writing and looked forward to getting out her monthly Roadrunner News Letter. Her family will miss her deeply, and will forever celebrate her memory by striving for the standards and principles that she effortless­ly maintained. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 1 at 11 am in the Chapel of Eternal Hills Funeral Home; the family will receive visitors 1 hour prior. Burial will follow in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Avon’s honor to Glen Haven Baptist Church.
