Voter registrati­on drive: The New Georgia Project will host a voter registrati­on drive which will include voter registrati­on training, canvassing, phone banking and on-site registrati­on. Conversati­on and coffee: During Brews and ’Brews, guests will fellowship with coffee and study portions of Hebrews in the Bible. Guest speaker: Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum, president emeritus of Spelman College and author, will deliver the message at First Congregati­onal Church, her home church. When she stepped down as president in 2015, she updated her book, “Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?” which addresses issues including the elections of Presidents Obama and Trump, the Black Lives Matter movement and the police shootings that galvanized many black youths. 11 a.m. Aug. 5. Swimming for singles: Jewish singles who are 40 years old and over will be welcomed at a Shabbat pool celebratio­n. Participan­ts will swim, mix and mingle over pizza and adult beverages at the pool.
