Ethics panel rules for official
The Atlanta school board’s ethics commission dismissed a parent’s complaint against board vice-chairwoman Eshé Collins.
The independent panel investigated Dawn Brockington-Shaw’s complaint that alleged Collins called her “a liar” during a community meeting in June. The complaint alleged Collins violated conflict of interest and conduct as a board member as well as the code of ethics oath during a dispute that grew heated.
The ethics panel met Tuesday after reviewing the matter and “unanimously determined that no good and sufficient cause existed for a determination that a violation may have occurred.”
Collins previously described the allegations as “completely baseless” and said she was confident that the commission would resolve the matter in her favor.
