Area has first car tag renewal kiosk

- PAMELA MILLER FOR THE AJC

Through the courtesy of Fulton County Tax Commissioner Arthur Ferdinand, an automated Auto Tag (annual) Renewal kiosk has been installed in the Kroger Grocery Store at 3330 Piedmont Road, according to a press release. This citizen convenience utility has been arranged at the appeal of the Buckhead Coalition.

Although this is the only automated service for this purpose in Buckhead (open from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., seven days per week), visitors from throughout the state are able to benefit from its program. It only requires identification of the applicant to execute its procedure, at the convenience fee of $3.

Similar kiosks are available throughout the state. For a list go to dor.georgia.gov/mvd-self-service-tag-kiosk#participating-counties.

Documents can be renewed and printed instantly anytime. There is no need to take off work or drive to your county Tag Office, according to the state department of revenue.

As long as your records are current, scanning, transaction selections, payment, and print generally take less than 60 seconds. Even manual entry usually takes no more than two minutes.
