The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Performing this week: Jeff Beck, Jason Mraz, Wiz Khalifa and Toto
Jason Mraz
Powered by the bright single, “Have It All,” the first studio album from the vocally pure, gentle-hearted Mraz in four years arrived last week. Hey, the guy has been busy, having recently wrapped his Broadway debut in “Waitress.”

Toto
When Toto announced their “40 Trips Around the Sun” anniversary tour in Febru- ary, no one could have predictedthatafew months later the band t hathasneverbeen deemed cool, despite a trove of classics such as “Rosanna,” “Hold the Line” and “I’ll Be Over You,” would be back in the pop culture spotlight thanks to Weezer. The ‘90s hipsterscovered(wi th much irony) Toto’s smash, “Africa,” in May, and, thanks to the inex- plicable world of social media, Weezer’s version just hit No. 1 on the Billboard Rock Air- play C hart. Toto graciously returned the favor with their rendition of Weezer’s “Hash Pipe,” now the encore of their live shows.

The lanky Pittsburgh MC and Mississippi-raised, Atlantaresiding duo of Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi have teamed for a 27-city run of amphitheaters with perhaps the most obvi- ous tour name ever created— “Dazed and Blazed Summer 2018.” Wiz released his sixth studio album, “Rolling Papers 2,” in July, onw hich he shares the song “Hopeless Romantic” with Swae Lee. Rae Sremmurd unveiled their third album, “SR3MM ,” in May.

Gangstagrass
The hip-hop -bluegrass hybrid is best known for their theme song to FX’s “Justified” (“Long Hard Times to Come”). But the collection of musicians from New York has some added visibility thanks to a song from member Dan Whitener, “We Are Gonna Be Okay,” which is featured in Spike Lee’s buzzy new “BlacKkKlansman” movie. The group, which is making its Atlanta concert debut, will unveil a live album in early 2019.

Jeff Beck, Paul Rodgers and Ann Wilson of Heart
As Ann Wilson astutely noted in a recent interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, there’s “not a clinker in the bunch” with this heady lineup of rockers. Wilson, who releases “Immortal” next month, an album of covers in tribute to deceased artists such as David Bowie, George Michael and Amy Winehouse, will take the stage after opener Deborah Bonham (sister of Led Zeppelin powerhouse drummer John). Beck and Rodgers have alternated who closes the show—but is there a downside to either?
