Buyer’s Edge Where can I find it?

- By Sabine Morrow

My dining room table has brass inserts along the glass top. The inserts need replacing as they were damaged during a move. I need to know where I could have some new ones made. Thank you. — Denise Garland, Kennesaw

Denise, I suggest you contact Architectural Accents, 2711 Piedmont Road, Atlanta, 404-266-8700. The company deals in antique furniture and fittings, and uses the services of blacksmiths. You can send them a photo of your table and the inserts and, if possible, Architectural Accents will try to source replacements or reproductions, and if that’s not successful, it’s possible that they can make new inserts for you.

I love your column! I can’t wait to read it every week. Now I need your help, please. I bought some Orchards Peak coconut water a while back at Big Lots. I like it more than any other brand I’ve ever had. The problem is I can’t seem to find it anywhere else. I don’t go to Big Lots that often, so I was hoping you could find it for me elsewhere. It is my experience that the stock rotates quite a bit at Big Lots, so I really don’t want to make unnecessary trips. Thank you so much for your help. — Gail S., Avondale Estates

Thank you for reading, Gail. So, here’s the story on that coconut water. Orchards Peak is produced by a company out of California called Sun Tropics Inc., which sells this particular beverage to only two retailers – Big Lots and Grocery Outlets. The latter isn’t located in Georgia. However, according to the person I spoke with at Sun Tropics, there’s no set schedule as to when the water is shipped to Big Lots, so you’re pretty much stuck doing what you’ve been doing, and that’s checking periodically to see if it’s in stock. A word of warning, though, don’t trust Big Lot’s computer inventory. I spoke to someone at a local Big Lots and was told that one store had two in stock; when I called there were zero. I then called the Statesboro store because, according to the computer, it was supposed to have 58 in stock, and that might have been worth the long drive for you. That store had zilch. Here’s the UPC code, so that you can check yourself, but make sure that someone gets their eyes on stock before you venture out — UPC 810286158.

I have looked all over the web and written to Kraft but there was no help in finding Miracle Whip with olive oil. I have to use this with my restricted diet. I bought it for over a year and my system is used to it. Please help. Everything I eat is so messed up without it. Thank you. — Bill Davis, Newnan

Bill, I have the perfect method that allows you to stock up on Miracle Whip with olive oil so that you won’t have to worry about running short. Check out Walmart.com and search for your dressing, when the 30-ounce jar for $3.48 pops up, have it shipped to the store nearest to you and it should arrive in two days.
