Crochet 101: Beginner

In this class, beginners or those looking for a refresher can learn the ins and outs of crochet. The course covers all the basics including yarn selection and different uses, which hooks to use, creating chains, single crochet, double crochet and finishing. Instructors will also offer some very useful tips and tricks to help you get started as well as problem solving for common mistakes. C.J. Chivers, ‘The Fighters: Americans in Combat in Afghanistan and Iraq’

Catch New York Times senior writer C.J. Chivers as he discusses his book, “The Fighters,” (Simon & Schuster, $28), a portrait of six combatants who are among the 2 million Americans to have served in Afghanistan or Iraq since Sept. 11, 2001.
