Fred Pollard hopes something can be done about an unusually dangerous pothole.

“A pot hole on Clifton Road at P once de Leon Avenue has been getting larger for several months. A rebar projects into the pothole and can puncture tires that pass over it,” Pollard wrote.

We sent the item to the city and will keep you updated.

Richard Prokesch wants to see some improvement with bike lanes.

“I enjoy your column and the coverage and help with road issues in our city. Several years ago bicycle lanes were put down on LaVista between Northlake Parkway and Jimmy Carter. I welcomed them and found that cars and trucks honored them. However, with time, they have essentially worn offff and I do not feel as safe on my rides. Can you fifind out if there are any plans to reline the lanes?” he asked.

Wesen this question to the DOT andwill let you knowif there are plans to re-stripe the lanes.

Jim Sykes wants something done about an eyesore in Cobb County.

“A cable installation contractor, apparently working for AT&T, abandoned a work tent in front of 5500 Highlands Parkway in Smyrna more than six months ago. The tent covers two open terminal boxes and ar at’ s nest of wiring. Besides being an eyesore, the tent is slowly collapsing, exposing the wiring to the weather,” he wrote.

Sykes said the property manager for the Highlands Park Owners Association, which maintains the parkway, has tried without success to fifind someone who will take responsibility for removing the tent and completing this work.

“The contractor also needs to repair a couple sections of side walk damaged during the cable installation. One is adjacent to the tent. The other is on Lake Ridge Drive, near Highlands Parkway,” he added.

Cobb officials said their right-of-way people have contacted AT& T. They said AT&T is waiting on a new shell that is supposed to house the materials and make it more aesthetically pleasing.

We checked with Cobb officials to see if the project is completed.
