Saturday's kickoff is moved up

UGA’s game against Middle Tennessee will start at noon.

The University of Georgia announced Thursday its football game against Middle Tennessee has been moved up to a noon kickoff Saturday.

Statement from University of Georgia Athletic Associatio­n:

“After extensive evaluation involving the uncertaint­y of weather conditions on the east coast, and considerat­ion of all constituen­cies involved including fans, support staff, and law enforcemen­t, the Saturday Georgia-Middle Tennessee State game has been moved from 7:15 p.m. to a 12 noon kickoff in Sanford Stadium.”

The Georgia-Middle Tennessee game can be heard on radio on WSB 95.5 FM and 750 AM. It was originally scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. kickoff.

Hurricane Florence is a Category 2 hurricane at the time of this publicatio­n. The most recent forecasts projected winds topping 80 mph to hit the Carolina coastlines late Thursday night, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constituti­on.

The No. 3 Bulldogs (2-0) are coming off a 41-17 victory over South Carolina in Columbia last Saturday.

■ Central Florida at North Carolina

■ East Carolina at Virginia Tech

■ Marshall at South Carolina

Changed

■ Georgia Southern at Clemson was moved from 3:30 p.m. Saturday to noon

■ Ohio at Virginia moved from Charlottes­ville, Va., to the Vanderbilt campus in Nashville, Tenn., and game time was changed from 3 p.m. Saturday to 4:30 p.m.

■ Old Dominion at Charlotte was moved from 6 p.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Thursday.
