It appears that Maroon 5 will bring their “Moves Like Jagger” to the halftime stage at Super Bowl 53.

Entertainment trademagazine Variety reported that the Adam Levine-fronted outfit will play Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, although official announcements aren’t expected until later in the NFL season. In a statement, a spokesperson for the league said that speculation about the Pepsi Halftime Show is common and “we do not have any announcements to make on what will be another epic show.”

If Maroon 5 is indeed the cen- terpiece music attraction for the Super Bowl, fans might see surprise appearances by current collaborator Cardi B (“I Like It”) and Kendrick Lamar, with whom the band recorded “Don’t Wanna Know,” along with selections from their trove of hits including “Sugar,” “This Love” and “Makes Me Wonder.”

In 2015, Levine told Howard Stern during a SiriusXM interview that the band was on a short list to play the Super Bowl for some time.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution recently reported that any entertainment surrounding and leading up to the Feb. 3 game won’t be unveiled until late September or early October, with an official halftime show notice in November.

Earlier this year, Justin Timber-

lake performed at the Minneapolis Super Bowl and added a tribute to the city’s musical godfather, Prince, into his show. In 2017, when the Atlanta Falcons nearly defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 51, Lady Gaga provided a dazzling halftime production.

The February game in Atlanta will mark the third time the city has hosted the event.

In 1994 at the now-razed Georgia Dome, a country team featuring the Judds (Wynonna and Naomi), Clint Black, Travis Tritt and Tanya Tucker performed at halftime; in 2000, the collective of Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias and Toni Braxton shared the stage in a performance inspired by Walt Disney World’s millennium celebration at its Epcot theme park.
