Traffic alert: Wine festival will close many Roswell roads Sunday

More than 50 wineries, restaurant­s, distributo­rs take part.

The Roswell Wine Festival is back in town this weekend.

And while that’s great for wine snobs and people looking for things to do in north Fulton County, it may not be so awesome for people trying to drive around Roswell.

The festival will force many roads and intersecti­ons near downtown Roswell to close on Sunday at various times between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Most of Canton Street won’t be accessible by vehicle.

These roads and intersecti­ons will be closed to all traffic on Sunday:

■ Canton Street at Woodstock Road

■ Thompson Place at Canton Street

■ Long Circle at Canton Street

■ Wood Place at Canton Street

■ Goulding Place at Canton Street

■ Canton Walk at Canton Street

■ Green Oaks Drive at Canton Street

■ Webb Street at Canton Street

■ Canton Street at Highway 9

■ Elizabeth Way at Highway 9

■ East Alley, from Canton Street to Norcross Street

■ Norcross Street, from Highway 9 to Canton Street

■ Plum Tree Street at Canton Street

Elizabeth Way will close at 8 a.m. and reopen at 6 p.m. Parts of Canton Street will close between 10:30 a.m. and noon and reopen between 5 and 6 p.m.

Thesixth annual Roswell Wine Festival will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. More than 50 restaurant­s, wineries, wine retailers and distributo­rs will participat­e in the event, offering up tastings and samples. For more informatio­n on the festival, visit roswellwin­efestival.com.
