- By Pamela Miller For the AJC

A downtown Atlanta restaurant failed a recent health inspection less than four months after recovering from another failed inspection.

Lucky Buddha on 10th Street NW scored 61/U on Oct. 15. Previous scores were 81/B on June 28, 2018 and 64/U on June 22, 2018.

The report noted myriad cleanliness issues. According to the inspector, the entire facility was in need of a thorough deep cleaning. There was an excessive accumulation of grease and old food debris on the floors, walls and ceilings and all cooking equipment throughout the facility. The inspector also noticed an excessive accumulation of pooled grease on the floor beneath the fryer. Other violations included:

■ Employees failed to wash hands before handling food after touching trashcans, mopping floors, etc.;

■ Numerous containers of food including noodles, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, raw chicken, dumplings, shrimp rolls, crab rangoons and various sauces were stored uncovered in reach in coolers throughout the facility;

■ Chlorine sanitizing solution was twice the accepted concentration;

■ Cold stored foods were held at temperatures higher than 41 degrees. Beef was at 66 degrees, sesame chicken was at 59.5 degrees, and sweet and sour chicken was at 48.5 degrees.

Most facilities with failed scores are reinspected within 10 days.
