WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO VOTE
■ View your voter registration information, precinct location and sample ballots on the state’s My Voter Page at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.
■ Georgia law requires photo ID when you vote in person. Approved forms of identification include a state driver’s license, even if it’s expired; a state-issued voter ID card; a valid U.S. passport; and a student ID from a state college.
■ If you have problems with your voter registration on Election Day, you can request a provisional ballot. Those ballots are counted if you verify your identity within three days of the election.
■ Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can still vote after 7 p.m. if you get in line by then.
■ To get help at the polls, you can contact your local elections office or call the nonpartisan Election Protection coalition for help at 866-OUR-VOTE. The coalition, which provides information and assistance for voters, is administered by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Common Cause and other organizations.
■ To report problems, please let us know. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is participating in Electionland, a ProPublica project covering access to the ballot and issues that prevent people from exercising their right to vote. Send a text message with the word “VOTE” or“VOTA”(for Spanish language) to 81380, or use Facebook Messenger by visiting m.me/electionland.
