The Dunwoody Nature Center is partnering with the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area for the Nature Center’s first offsite campout. Not generally open to the public, the CREEC property offers easy access to trails, the Chattahoochee River, a bonfire and acres to explore and enjoy. ■ Giving to the Community Assistance Center Food Pantry. 8607 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs. With the pantry low on some main staples, donate — if you can — to help local families seeking assistance with food. Urgent needs include canned meats (chicken, tuna, ham, etc.); canned fruit; dry pasta; rice; cooking oil (small bottles) and toothpaste. ■ Holiday Gift Angels Program by Forsyth County Senior Services. Holiday angels are needed for local senior citizens by picking up agift request tag at any of the three Forsyth County Senior Services locations. Open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, two of them are Center at Charles Place, 595 Dahlonega St., Cumming and Sexton Hall Enrichment Center, 2115 Chloe Road, Cumming. The other one is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays at Hearthstone Lodge Community Center, 7305 Lanier Drive, Cumming. After acquiring a gift as suggested on the gift request tag, bring the unwrapped gift — in a gift bag with the gift request tag attached — to any of the three Forsyth County Senior Services locations by the end of November.
