Q: Does the Decades TV network have any plans to return to over-the-air broadcasting in the metro Atlanta area?

REGINALD ABBOTT, LITHONIA

A

: The Decades TV network changed over-the-air and cable channels in many parts of the U.S. in September, which led to interrupted broadcasting in some viewing areas, including metro Atlanta.

Decades stopped broadcasting on CBS Channel 46.2, Will Givens, vice president of network marketing at Weigel Broadcasting, told Q&A on the News.

Decades is jointly owned by CBS Corp. and Weigel Broadcasting. The network mainly airs classic TV sitcoms, drama series and feature films from the 1950s through the 2000s.

Givens said Decades TV is having conversations about bringing the network back to metro Atlanta viewers, but the network doesn’t know when or what channel Decades will be on if it returns.

Decades is still on the air in 40 percent of the U.S., including WGTA, which reaches Toccoa and other Northeast Georgia viewing areas, Givens said.
