Madelyne B. Watson, age 94, of Loganville, GA passed away on November 16 in Monroe,

GA. Born November 7, 1924 in

Sandy Cross, Oglethorpe County, GA, she is survived by her husband, Andrew (A.C.)

Watson, Jr., and three of her sons and their spouses, William

& Marilyn Watson, Thomas &

Laura Watson and Joseph

Watson; nine grandchild­ren and their spouses, Jenifer Stewart, Corey Watson, Tobie Wheeler (husband Eddie Wheeler), Jennifer White (husband Will), Melinda Wright (husband Anthony), Lucas Watson, Amanda Stickel (husband Tommy), Jacob Watson and Andrew Watson; 15 great grandchild­ren and two great great grandchild­ren; two nephews and one niece and their spouses, Freddie Moseley, Susan Brock (husband Bill) and Albert Little (wife Mary). She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard C. Bridges & Lizzie Pope Amason, her half-sister, Everett Steele and her firstborn son, Charles Andrew Watson.

Madelyne grew up in Carlton, GA and came at Atlanta at 16 to attend Southern Business University. After marrying A.C. December 22, 1944, they joined three other couples in starting Kirkwood Church of Christ in 1945 , later becoming Hillcrest Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school for 30+ years. From 1964-1991 she worked at Georgia Tech, serving as assistant to Dean Sangster of GT’s Engineerin­g College. She was devoted to her family and was a sure presence at band concerts, wrestling matches, school plays, baseball games and much more. Her cooking was legendary, as was her ability to multi-task - she could sew a wedding dress, host and write poetry for a bridal shower, type up someone’s doctoral thesis or balance a university’s budget. God alone knows how many lives she has touched. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that contributi­ons be made to Raintree Village Children’s Home in Valdosta, GA or Georgia AGAPE. Visitation will be Sunday, November 18 from 3:00-5:00pm at Thomas Wages Funeral Home, Snellville, GA, and the funeral will be Monday, November 19 at 10:00am at Snellville Church of Christ. Internment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs.
