How local teen fared in ‘Jeopardy!’ tournament.

A senior from Peachtree City finished in third place in the “Jeopardy” Teen Tournament this week.

Maya Wright collected $25,000 for placing third. Claire Sattler, a 17-year-old senior from Bonita Springs, Florida, won the $100,000 grand prize, while Emma Arn o ld, a junior from Owings Mills, Maryland, came in second and took home $50,000.

Sattler’s biggest concern among the all-women semifinals was her “fellow final- ists,” a news release said.

“Maya had just been on fire on the buzzer throughout the tournament,” she said in a statement. “Look- ing at my competition, I was really prepared for third and I was okay with that.”

Maya, a senior at East Coweta High School, said pep talks from her dad and advice to “just have fun” from her mom helped her get to the semifinals.

“I recently realized that I might have forgotten to thank my parents while I was on stage,” she said. “This haunts me because I am exceedingly grateful for their love and support, which has allowed me (to) pursue dreams like this one.”

She joins the ranks of metro Atlanta “Jeopardy” contestants such as Adam Francois Watkins, a stay-athome dad and lawyer; Jordan Moore, an Atlanta librar- ian who knows her Kendrick Lamar trivia; Rishab Jain, a Georgia Tech student who retweeted his haters; Lane Flynn, the chairman of the DeKalb County GOP; and Lindsay Resnick, an archivist at the Breman Museum.
