I have over 200 pieces of Fiesta dishes that I would like to get appraised. Most of these dishes came from my mother who got them when she was married, and we lost her three years ago at 98. These dishes are old. I have several other pieces of furniture I would like to get appraised but they’re big and heavy. Is there anyone who will come to our home to do an appraisal? Thank you in advance for your help. — Mary Allsobrooks, McDonough
Mary, I spoke with Debra Freer, owner of Aaron Appraisal Services, 404587-5711, who has been in the business of appraising fine art and antiques for 30 years. Aaron Appraisal conforms to the standards of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) established by the Appraisal Foundation and the technical and ethical requirements of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA). The company can provide appraisals for a single object, selected groupings or a house or office filled with various collections. Aaron’s charges an hourly rate, and qualified appraisers can come to your home to conduct an appraisal on your items. For more information, check out the company’s website at aaronappraiser. com.
Where can I find Brylcreem hair dressing locally? I’m not looking for the one in the tube. I prefer Brylcreem that comes in the small red pot. Thank you for your help. — E. Johnson, Peachtree Corners
Keeping men’s hair perfectly coiffed since it was launched in England in 1928, Brylcreem is still going strong. You’ll find the little red tub of Brylcreem for $6.99 at Taste of Britain, 73 S. Peachtree St., Norcross, 770-242-8585. And, yes, it still uses the tag line, “A little dab’ll do ya.” By the way, in case you were wondering just how big or small a dab was, according to the folks at Brylcreem, it’s the size of a dime.
