“A Christmas Carol”

There are several options to see this classic tale including Alliance Theatre’s 29th annual production which opens Dec. 12 and runs through Dec. 24. Journey through time with the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge as his late business partner Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future help Scrooge learn how to make better life choices. This Broadwayscale production of the Dickens classic is two-and-a-half hours (with one 15-minute intermission) and features live music and an all-star cast. 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12. $31.50$80. Star 94.1 Jingle Jam

Get in a festive mood with the event billed as the “original holiday pop music showcase in Atlanta.” This year, the Jingle Jam lineup featuring O.A.R., Jesse McCartney and Atlanta’s own Brynn Elliott. The show is appropriate for all ages. 8 p.m. Dec. 12. $38.84$79.23. Coca-Cola Roxy, 800

Jingle Jog 2018, 5K Race

Jump start your fitness goals before the new year by participating in the Modern Luxury a Jingle Jog, a 5K Race through Piedmont Park. The event includes festive stops along the route. Take a picture with Santa and wrap up the race with cocktails at Park Tavern. Holiday-inspired attire is welcome. Bring a small gift to be donated to a children’s charity courtesy of Piedmont Park Conservancy. 6-8 p.m. Dec. 12. Free.
