Atlanta’s 10-day Super Bowl party
In the days and nights leading to Feb. 3, the city will be treated to a wide range of entertainment.
Zac Brown Band will play free concert
Add the Zac Brown Band to the list of Atlanta-based artists who will participate in Super Bowl 53 festivities.
The country superstars will play the Bud Light Dive Bar at the Tabernacle on Jan. 31 as part of Pandora’s “LIVE” series. Fans 21 and older can RSVP at pandorazacbrownband.splashthat.com for the free concert.
Future, Jamie Foxx and Diplo to headline event
The annual “Maxim Big Game Experience” will spotlight performances from Future, Jamie Foxx and Diplo on the eve of Super Bowl 53.
The party, which will take over the event space at the Fairmont from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., also requires some deep pockets. Tickets range from $750 for a single VIP ticket to $45,000 for an “on stage” table with as many as 25 guests (if you don’t mind sitting in VIP Row 6 with only 10 guests, it’s a mere $12,500).
Foxx, the Academy Award-winning actor, comedian and TV game show host (“Beat Shazam”), is also a longtime musician.
And Diplo, known for his collaborations with Major Lazer (“Lean On”) and Mark Ronson and Dua Lipa (Silk City’s “Electricity”), will bring an EDM flavor to “ATL Royalty.”
Fan friendly
Super Bowl Live (a fan festival with concerts and other activities) will be held at Centennial Olympic Park and Super Bowl Experience (an interactive theme park) inside the Georgia World Congress Center.
Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.com for Super Bowl Experience from Jan. 26-Feb. 2, and Super Bowl Opening Night, the event formerly known as media day, to be held in State Farm Arena on Jan. 28.
The big show
The NFL plans to set up the massive Super Bowl media center in the GWCC, Peter O’Reilly, the NFL’s senior vice president of events, told the AJC in June.
He also said the “NFL Honors” show — the league’s annual awards show that recognizes the season’s best performances — will be held at the Fox Theatre on the night before the Super Bowl and nationally televised on CBS.
Walking distance
The walkable proximity of downtown Atlanta venues — Congress Center — is a big plus.
“Our goal every year (is) how do we build upon this really special event and week and take it to a new level,” he said.
