Buyer’s Edge

- By Sabine Morrow

For years I’ve been able to buy DiaDerm foot rejuvenating cream for my husband, which used to be marketed as a diabetic foot cream. I could get it easily at Walmart or Target, but these stores no longer stock it. The only place I’ve found it is on Amazon or eBay at triple the price. Is there any place locally where I can purchase it? I would greatly appreciate your help. My husband and I always enjoy reading your column in the Sunday AJC. Hope you can help. — Renee Kozlicki, Dunwoody

In the search for a goodtasting diet soft drink, I was thrilled to come across Dr. Pepper Ten. For the last several years, it’s gone from difficult to impossible to find locally even though it’s still shown on the company website. I’ve tried calling stores to ask if they carry it. Often the person answering will check a list and inform me that it’s available, but the list bears little relationship to the contents of the shelves as I discover upon arrival. Surely you’ll have greater success than I. — Sarah Caldwell, email

Sarah, I checked with someone at Dr. Pepper and was given some specific stores that were supposed to have recently sold Dr. Pepper Ten, which gets its moniker because it contains only 10 calories. All of the stores were located south of Atlanta, and only one of them stocked the product. You’ll find 12-packs of Dr. Pepper Ten in 12-ounce cans, $5.79, at Publix Super Market, 108 Pavilion Parkway, Fayetteville , 770-4604100. I am lactose intolerant and enjoyed Borden lactose-free cheese for a good while. Can you help me to find a store that carries it? Thanks for your efforts. — Hope Morris, Lithonia

Although Borden lactose-free cheese is available locally, stock is spotty, so I didn’t find it exactly in your neighborhood, but about 10 miles away at Publix Super Market, 2880 Georgia Hwy. 212, Conyers, 770-918-2512. An 8-ounce package of 12 individually wrapped single slices of the pasteurized prepared cheese product costs $3.39. You’ll find Borden lactose-free American singles on aisle 16. Note that Publix is really helpful when it comes to bringing in products for customers and, at the last minute, I received word that the Lithonia location would order the cheese for its next delivery. Call before going to make sure it’s in stock. Having trouble finding a particular item? We’ll try to help you locate it. Because of the volume of mail, we cannot track down every request.
