Double stabbing under investigation by GBI
Authorities are investigating a double stabbing in Spalding County on Monday morning.
The GBI is investigating the incident that left two men stabbed multiple times near a home off High Falls Road around 9 a.m., the Spalding County Sheriff ’s Office said in a news release. A suspect is not in custody.
Deputies responded to the aggravated assault call, and they found 33-year-old Syntel Brown outside of the home, the release said. He had suffered multiple stab wounds and cuts.
He was treated at the scene by the deputies and a neigh- bor until emergency medical services arrived, and Brown was taken to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment, the release said. His condition was not provided.
A second man, 24-yearold Devontae Perkins, was found near the residence and also had stab wounds and cuts, the release said. He was taken to Spalding Regional Hospital. His condition also was not provided.
In the release, Sheriff Darrell Dix said, “After being briefed by my investigators as to the details of the incident and those involved, I made the determination to con- tact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and ask for their assistance. At this point, the investigation has been turned over to them. No other details will be released at this time as the investigation into the incident and fact-gathering is ongoing.”
GBI spokesperson Nelly Miles said the agency had no other information about the investigation.
