There are a million different versions of chicken salad — some good and some not so good. But at a recent lunch at Holler and Dash, I found their version to be very, very good. I’d love to be able to make this chicken salad at home if you can procure the recipe for me. Thank you in advance. — John Wolfinger, Atlanta

Holler & Dash’s Cranberry Almond Chicken Salad is a nice change from mayonnaise-based chicken salads you’re probably accustomed to eating.

With its honey and lime juice dressing, it’s refreshing and light.

And roasting the chicken instead of boiling it makes for firmer chunks of chicken in your salad.

The recipes below are for the two components of their Honey Crunch Chicken Salad sandwich. They build the sandwich on toasted multigrain bread and layer first the chicken salad, then the slaw.

The chefs suggest you can modify the chicken salad to your own taste.

“Get creative with the ingredients in the chicken salad. Try adding fresh grated ginger, chopped chilies or even fresh basil to the chicken salad for a fun twist on a Southern classic!”
