The Georgia women’s basketball team defeated Florida 93-58 Sunday at Stegeman Coliseum, improving to 5-5 in the SEC and 14-9 overall.

Georgia’s point total was a season-high, and the Bulldogs shot a season-best 58 percent from the field and posted their largest margin of victory in conference play this year.

The Bulldogs had four players in double figures and two players with double-doubles. Georgia’s leading scorer and rebounder, senior Caliya Robinson, recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Redshirt-junior Taja Cole had 14 points and a career-high 12 assists.

Sophomore Maya Caldwell contributed 11 points, tying her season high, and sophomore Que Morrison had a season-high 11 points.

“We came back after Auburn and had a hard look in the mirror and talked about a lot of things” Georgia head coach Joni Taylor said. “We have to eliminate making the same mistakes over and over and over and that’s what we’ve continued to do. Even in some of our wins, we’ve had bad turnovers or let people offensive rebound. You’ve got to be committed to changing those things and not doing the same thing.”

Georgia Tech 60, Wake Forest 46: Tech dominated the second half in Winston-Salem, N.C., and rolled to victory as Elizabeth Dixon and Francesca Pan combined for 37 points. The Jackets are 15-9 and 5-6 in ACC play.

“I am very proud of this team,” coach MaChelle Joseph said. “We are focused on getting better. For a young team, they have shown a lot of grit. Francesca Pan stepped up huge for her team today.”

Both teams got off to a slow start with Tech 4 for 16 from the field to trail 12-8 at the break. Dixon opened the second quarter with a 6-0 run to help the Jackets take their first lead. Tech outscored the Demon Deacons 17-6 in the quarter to lead 25-18 at halftime.

Wake Forest opened the third quarter with an 11-0 run, holding the Jackets to 0-for-8 shooting to lead 29-25. The Jackets answered with a 15-2 run over the next 3:14 fueled by three 3-pointers from Pan to gain a 40-31 edge. Tech continued to dominate in the fourth quarter and gained its largest lead of the game of 25 points on two free throws from Lotta-Maj Lahtinen. WFU closed the game with a 11-0 run.
