Falcons’ Kronenberg moves to new role

-

Bob Kronenberg, who’d been working with the Falcons as a pro scout, has moved to the assistant offensive line coach position. Kronenberg, 47, will be charged with helping offensive line coach Chris Morgan as they try to re-shape a group that gave up 42 sacks last season.

Kronenberg, who played offensive line in the Canadian Football League, NFL Europe and the Arena Football League, has been with the Falcons for eight years after spending the previous seven with the AFL’s Georgia Force. — D. ORLANDO LEDBETTER

Steelers: The team still hasn’t decided whether there’s a path for WR Antonio Brown to return in 2019, but he’s already made up his mind. A person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press the perennial Pro Bowler has asked the Steelers for a trade, the latest move in a game of brinksmanship by the 30-year-old designed to force Pittsburgh to move him by the start of training camp this summer.

Brown appeared to make his decision official in an Instagram post Tuesday. The video includes highlights from Brown’s career with the Steelers while lyrics from “Do What I Want” by rapper Lil Uzi Vert plays in the background. “SteelerNation thank you for nine big years!!!” Brown wrote. “Time to move on and move forward.” The post came shortly after Brown was found guilty in absence on a charge of reckless driving in a suburban Pittsburgh court on Tuesday morning. He was charged with driving his car over 100 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Brown still has three years remaining on the $72 million contract he signed in the spring of 2017. He is the only player in NFL history with six consecutive 100catch seasons and he hauled in 104 receptions for 1,297 yards and a franchise-record 15 TDs in 2018.

Bills: Signed OL Spencer Long to a three-year contract, a week after the Jets cut Long to free up nearly $6.5 million from next season’s salary cap. The 28-year-old has 44 starts in 53 career games over five seasons. The Bills also re-signed CB Lafayette Pitts to a one-year contract.

NFL combine: The NFL combine will be televised on broadcast TV for the first time. ABC will present a twohour special March 2 from Indianapolis that will feature drills by quarterbacks and wide receivers. The combine workouts run from March 1-4 and also will be televised by NFL Network.
