MUSIC PICKS

- Melissa Ruggieri

FRIDAY Gino Vannelli

The Canadian soft-rock singer made the ladies swoon in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s with his soul-pop power ballads “I Just Wanna Stop” and “Living Inside Myself,” and in recent years, he’s become a more familiar presence on the road. In an interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution during a visit here in 2014, Vannelli joked that, “I would suspect at least half the audience probably saw me at the first show I ever did here in 1975 at the Great Southeast (Music Hall).” When he isn’t taking fans on a nostalgic musical ride, he teaches music in his home base of Oregon.

SUNDAY Sarah Brightman

She’s regarded as the most successful soprano of all time, and with her storied background in Broadway (“The Phantom of the Opera”) and classical music triumphs (her 1996 duet with Andrea Bocelli, “Time to Say Goodbye,” sold 12 million copies worldwide), there is little quibbling with her stature. Her “Hymn: Sarah Brightman in Concert” tour kicked off Jan. 30 in support of her 15th fulllength album, “Hymn.”

Michael Buble

After taking a two-year break from music to care for his son, Michael Buble returned to the road this week on his “Love” tour. The suave singer last played Atlanta in 2013, also at Infinite Energy Arena. In 2016, his 5-year-old son, Noah, was diagnosed with liver cancer and Buble and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, relocated to Los Angeles while the little boy underwent treatment. Noah is now in remission and is “doing well,” according to the family.

MONDAY Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals

Fresh from his win for best rap performance at the Grammy Awards (for “Bubblin’), the R&B-hiphop performer will hit fans with material from his new album, “Oxnard.” The release is an homage to his California origins and features Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, J. Cole and others.

With Tayla Parx. 8 p.m. Feb. 18. Sold out. Coca-Cola Roxy, 800 Battery Ave. SE, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, livenation.com.

THURSDAY Dave Mason

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer (inducted in 2004 with Traffic) will unfurl classic songs including “Only You Know and I Know,” “We Just Disagree” and “Feelin’ Alright,” (recorded by Traffic in 1968 and Joe Cocker in 1969) on his intimate tour, also called “Feelin’ Alright.” Mason will be joined by Johnne Sambataro on guitar, Alvino Bennett on drums, Anthony Patler on bass, keyboards and vocals and Gretchen Rhodes on vocals.
