1 Composer dies: Andre Previn, the pianist, composer and conductor whose broad reach took in the worlds of Hollywood, jazz and classical music, always rejecting suggestion­s that his bop ’n’ blues moonlighti­ng lessened his stature, died Thursday in his Manhattan home. He was 89.

2 Actor has stroke: Actor Luke Perry has been hospitaliz­ed following reports he suffered a stroke. The news comes after Fox announced a six-episode revival of “Beverly Hills, 90210,”the hit 1990s TV drama that starred Perry, among others. He has not yet been attached to the project. The 52-year-old actor was most recently seen on the CW show “Riverdale.”

3 Crab leg fight: A dispute over crab legs at a Huntsville, Alabama, dinner buffet ended in a brawl that left two people facing misdemeano­r charges. Chequita Jenkins and John Chapman were using service tongs like fencing swords. The pair had been waiting in line for crab legs for more than 10 minutes, and they lost their tempers once the food came out. Jenkins is charged with assaulting Chapman. Chapman is charged with disorderly conduct.

4 New partner: Martha Stewart said Thursday she is partnering with Canopy Growth Corp. to assist in developing new products that contain nonpsychoa­ctive CBD and other hemp-derived cannabinoi­ds. Stewart didn’t specify what those products might be. Ontario-based Canopy Growth sells marijuana, oils and other products for medical and recreation­al users.

5 Thomas at Mercer: U.S. Supreme Court Justice and Georgia native Clarence Thomas will give keynote remarks at a Mercer University School of Law event to dedicate a courtroom in honor of alumni Griffin Bell (class of 1948) and Frank Jones (1950) on March 11. The event in Macon is private, and all seating is spoken for.
