16. Free and open only to DeKalb County residents. Sanitation Division’s Central Transfer Station, 3720 Leroy Scott Drive, Decatur. Hazardous materials, such as paint and paint-related products, aerosols, batteries, adhesives, flammables, lawn care products, fluorescen­t light bulbs, photo chemicals and artist supplies, will be accepted. Not accepted will be agricultur­al waste, ammunition, pharmaceut­icals, radioactiv­e materials and biohazardo­us and biomedical waste. Participan­ts will be limited to 10 gallons of paint per vehicle. The event offers an opportunit­y for residents to properly dispose of dangerous household chemicals.
