» Giants reportedly trade receiver Beckham to Browns,

-

Two people familiar with the blockbuster trade say the Cleveland Browns have agreed to acquire star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants.

The Browns are sending a first- and third-round pick in 2019 along with safety Jabrill Peppers to the Giants for Beckham, one of the NFL’s top players, said the people who spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday night. They spoke on condition of anonymity because league rules prohibit teams from announcing trades until 4 p.m. today.

The deal is conditional on both players passing physicals.

With the Browns, Beckham will be reunited with receiver Jarvis Landry, a teammate at LSU. He’ll also give quarterback Baker Mayfield an elite target, and his arrival vaults the Browns, who went 7-8-1 last season after not winning a game in 2017, into legit- imate championship con- tenders.

It’s the second trade between the teams in the past week. Cleveland previously acquired edge rusher Oliv- ier Vernon and sent guard Kevin Zeitler to New York.

The Browns also beefed up their defensive line before free agency opened, agree- ing to a three-year, $39 mil- lion contract with ex-Vikings defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson.

The former Jets first-round draft pick, who has played with three other teams since 2013 and been suspended twice by the NFL, will receive $21.5 million guaranteed.

■ Packers: Agreed to deals with former Ravens pass rusher Za’Darius Smith, linebacker Preston Smith (Redskins) and safety Adrian Amos (Bears).

■ Raiders: Agreed to a four-year contract with former Rams safety Lamarcus Joyner. The Raiders previously made big moves on offense by trading for receiver Antonio Brown and agreeing to a deal with tackle Trent Brown.

■ Vikings: Anthony Barr is staying in Minnesota after all. The four-time Pro Bowl outside linebacker agreed to re-sign on a five-year, $67.5 million contract with $33 mil- lion guaranteed. Barr first had a verbal agreement to join the Jets, but he changed his mind to remain with the team that drafted him ninth overall out of UCLA in 2014.

■ Jets: Agreed to contracts with three players: wide receivers Jamison Crowder (Redskins) and Josh Bellamy (Bears), and ex-Ravens stand- out linebacker C.J. Mosley.

■ Broncos: Are expected to sign free agent defensive back Kareem Jackson (Texans) to a three-year, $33 million deal which includes $23 million in guaranteed money.

The Broncos also are expected to make former Dolphin Ju’Wuan James the highest paid right tackle in the league. James is expected to sign a four-year, $51 million contract that includes $32 million in guarantees.

■ Texa n s: Addressed their void at safety, signing free agent Tashaun Gipson, who spent the last three seasons with the Jaguars after playing for the Browns for four years. He has started 90 of his 98 games and led the AFC in interceptions in 2013 (5) and 2014 (6).

■ Titans: Agreed to terms with former Rams offensive lineman Rodger Saffold on a four-year deal worth $44 million with $22.5 million guaranteed. The 6-foot-5, 323-pound Saffold has played guard most of the past four seasons and at left guard the past three seasons. He is expected to replace Quinton Spain, who becomes a free agent today.

■ Bills: Reached agreements to sign free agent receivers John Brown and Cole Beasley.

Brown is a speedy deep threat who had 42 catches for 715 yards and five touchdowns in his first and only season in Baltimore last year. Beasley spent his first seven seasons with the Cowboys, where he proved himself as a dependable slot receiver.

■ Dolphins: Receiver DeVante Parker signed an incentive-laden, two-year deal worth up to $13 million that replaces a $9.4 million fifth-year option on his original contract.

■ Chargers: Veteran linebacker Thomas Davis is signing with Los Angeles after spending his entire 14-year career with the Panthers.
