One Musicfest
Lineup for the 10th annual R&B/hip-hop festival Saturday and Sunday includes Gucci Mane, Rae Sremmurd, Tory Lanez, Rick Ross, Ari Lennox, DMX, Wu-Tang Clan and Busta Rhymes.
SATURDAY One Musicfest
It’s the 10th year for the still-evolving R&B/hip-hop gathering and undoubtedly its most star-laden lineup. From Gucci Mane to Rick Ross, Rae Sremmurd to DMX, Pharrell Williams with Usher to Wu-Tang Clan (celebrating their own 25th anniversary), the festival originated by Atlanta’s Jason “J” Carter is continuing his dream of establishing an “urban cultural Woodstock.” Artists will perform across three stages during the two-day outing. Also, Atlanta producer royalty Jermaine Dupri and Dallas Austin will be feted with the first-ever OMF Honors.
Noon Saturday and Sunday. $75 one day, $149 two days, $275 two-day VIP, $750 two-day platinum. Centennial Olympic Park, 235 Andrew Young International Blvd. NW, Atlanta. 888-512-7469, onemusicfest. com.
The Jacksons
The quartet of Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon Jackson will have just returned from a jaunt through Europe when they visit Atlanta. The sparkly costumes will still be present, as will a setlist heavy on fan favorites
including “Can You Feel It,” “Blame It on the Boogie,” “Rock With You” and “Enjoy Yourself.”
8 p.m. Saturday . $48.50$118.50. Wolf Creek Amphitheater, 3025 Merk Road S.W., Atlanta. 1-800-7453000, ticketmaster.com.
The B-52s
The Athens legends are winding down their touring years with a continuation of their 40th anniversary, which started last year and picked up in May. The frontline of Cindy Wilson, Fred Schneider and Kate Pierson will keep the crowd bopping with hits both kooky (“Rock Lobster”) and polished (“Love Shack”). In addition to their live performances, the B-52s will be in the spotlight for a documentary to be produced by Fred Armisen and directed by Craig Johnson as well as an official written history of the band, due in 2020.
With Berlin and OMD. 7 p.m. Saturday . $40-$75. Cadence Bank Amphithe
atre at Chastain Park, 4469 Stella Drive NW, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.
TUESDAY Daniel Caesar
The twentysomething R&B singer is still a new name to many. But the success of his 2017 debut, “Freudian,” followed by a Grammy earlier this year (for “Best Part” with H.E.R.) and a second release, “Case Study 01,” in June equate to a career that won’t stay too quiet much longer.
8 p.m. Tuesday . $29.50$79.50. Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta. 1-855-285-8499, foxtheatre. org.
WEDNESDAY J Balvin
His wacky performance with Bad Bunny at the recent MTV Video Music Awards garnered notice (Google it, if only to see the costumes) – but it isn’t as if the Colombian Reggaeton favorite needs help with his fan base. Balvin’s Atlanta-area date will kick off his “Arcoiris Tour,” which will wind through October.
With Lyanno and Eladio Carrión. 8 p.m. Wednesday. $39.95-$350. Infinite Energy Arena, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth. 770626-2464, infiniteenergycenter.com.
THURSDAY Indigo Girls
It’s been several years since Amy Ray and Emily Saliers started pairing their insightful folk-pop songs with an orchestral backdrop, and they still love the different approach. “When I hear the symphony come in, it’s a convergence of a lot of feelings,” Saliers said. “First, you can’t believe your good fortune that it’s really happening, and then you’re hit with the power of this enormous, full orchestra coming from behind you. Even when we play by ourselves now, I can’t perform these songs without hearing the orchestra in my head.” Sharing the stage with their hometown Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is likely the biggest thrill of all.
8 p.m. Thursday and Sept. 13 . $39.50-$99.50. Atlanta Symphony Hall, 1280 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.
