Luxury Buckhead senior living homes start at $6K monthly

Corso Atlanta to be next to Northwest Medical Center.

A pool, a salon and spa, and gym are just a few of the amenities senior citizens will find at a new luxury assisted living facility in Buckhead.

The $300 million project, Corso Atlanta, will have 204 units to start and is expected to be priced at $6,000 per month on the low end, Village Park CEO and founder Tim Gary said in an email to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution announcing the project. Prices vary depending on the residence type and level of care needed but could reach $12,500 per month on the upper end, a representative with the property said.

Village Park is an Atlanta-based company that operates three other senior living care facilities in Alpharetta, Milton and Peachtree Corners.

“Not only are we a rental model, giving residents and families added flexibility, but our ‘amenities’ work intelligently and dynamically to create a lifestyle and community focused on relationships, engagement, dignity, and ultimately, happiness,” Gary said in an emailed statement.

Corso Atlanta will be built on 9 acres on Howell Mill Road next to Northwest Medical Center. Construction began Sept. 17, and units are set to open between late 2020 and early 2021.

The development will include 82 independent apartment-style units, 75 assisted living and 26 memory care. It will also include 21 townhome-style homes with a private garden and patio on the property’s lower level. Residents will also have access to a theater, European-style cafes, a pet park, luxury dining options, a library and a wine cellar with a tasting room.

While initial plans call for just over 200 units, Gary said the property could one day hold 600 units.

“The additional units would be built on a new section of the property in order to ensure construction does not affect the experience of residents,” he said.

Gary said Corso Atlanta will also include “tailored care” plans for its residents, including on-site nurses for health and wellness assessments, physical therapy and a comprehensive memory care program. Residents will also have concierge transportation services for outside appointments.

“Our communities are molded by our residents and surrounding neighborhoods. Therefore, our campus — including services, amenities, and residence options — will adapt and grow to meet their needs for today and tomorrow,” he said.
