■ David Correia, the fourth defendant in a campaign finance case involving business associates of President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, was arrested Wednesday morning at a New York City airport, officials said. Correia has been charged with participating in a scheme to use foreign money to build political support for a fledgling recreational marijuana business in Nevada and other states, according to an indictment unsealed last week that also charged Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman with conspiracy and making false statements to campaign finance regulators.
■ Kurt Volker, who served as Trump’s envoy to Ukraine before resigning late last month, was back at the Capitol on Wednesday after testifying two weeks ago for more than eight hours. Volker’s return Wednesday, which had not been disclosed earlier, was for the purpose of reviewing the transcript of his earlier deposition, according to a person familiar with the situation. It is not unusual for witnesses in congressional investigations to be given an opportunity to review the official transcript of what they said.
■ Speaker Nancy Pelosi, despite intensifying calls from Trump and Republicans to hold a formal vote to authorize the impeachment inquiry, showed no indication she would do so. She said Congress will continue its investigation as part of the Constitution’s system of checks and balances of the executive.
