1 Figure indicted by Mueller freed:

One of 13 Russians indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller for alleged interferen­ce in the 2016 election was released Tuesday by Belarus, where she has been detained since Sunday on the American charges. The suspect, Anna Bogacheva, immediatel­y headed back to Russia with her husband and small child after being freed from detention in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, a Russian watchdog group said.

2 Chicago school strike: Parents

and community groups are scrambling to prepare for an expected strike by Chicago teachers that prompted city officials to preemptive­ly cancel today’s classes in the nation’s third-largest school district. Mayor Lori Lightfoot said the district’s 25,000 teachers represente­d by the Chicago Teachers Union would almost certainly walk out today based on union leaders’ reaction to bargaining talks this week.

3 Bill targets fake Uber drivers:

Members of Congress have introduced a bill that would help riders confirm Uber and Lyft drivers are legitimate and not a fake driver hoping to do harm. The bill was inspired by college student Sami Josephson who was kidnapped and murdered after getting into a car she thought was her Uber ride. It was discussed at a legislativ­e hearing Wednesday. Representa­tives from Uber and Lyft did not attend.

4 Chelsea Clinton rules out run:

Chelsea Clinton has ruled out running for Congress next year, batting down speculatio­n she may seek the open seat in her New York district after longtime incumbent Rep. Nita Lowey, D, unexpected­ly announced her retirement last week. The former first daughter joined ABC’s “The View” on Wednesday as a guest host and was asked at the start of the show by host Whoopi Goldberg about her immediate political ambitions.
