■ DeKalb History Center’s Lunch & Learn: Lyon Farmhouse Restoration. Noon-1 p.m. Nov. 5. Free. Historic DeKalb Courthouse, second floor, 101 E. Court Square, Decatur. Bring your lunch. Presenters Mera Cardenas and Sarah Lisle from the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area Alliance. The Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area has been dedicated to preserving the historic buildings and lands within its area. Among these lands is the Lyon Farm, established by the Lyon family in the 1820s. The Lyon family occupied the land for nearly 150 years; and in recent years, with the help of many organizations, work began on the Lyon House to stabilize and restore it until its completion in May 2019. Now the alliance will use the farmhouse to help interpret the history of the land and educate future visitors. Marissa Howard at 404-373-1088 ext. 20 or howard@DeKalbHistory.org
