Where Can I Find It?

- By Sabine Morrow

Unsalted Fleishman’s margarine, ReRack rubber coating, kurbiskern brotchen rolls and some bad news for fans of Sister Schubert’s Shareable bread,

I am looking for Fleishman’s unsalted margarine. My daughter has severe food allergies, and this is one of the few margarines that does not have dairy products and works well for cooking. It freezes well, so even buying a case would be fine. Thanks for your help.

I have a couple of sources so that you can get a regular supply of unsalted Fleishman’s margarine without having to stockpile it. Check out Kroger, 2090 Dunwoody Club Drive, Atlanta, 770391-9035, and the Toco Hills Kroger, 2205 Lavista Road, Atlanta, 404-633-8694. You won’t find the margarine in the regular dairy case. The stores stock the spread in the refrigerated case in the kosher foods section. A pack of four sticks sells for $2.89.

I have a white dish drainer that fits in my Kohler kitchen sink. It has begun to lose its rubber coating, and replacements are no longer available. I would appreciate your help in locating a place that can recoat it with new rubber. Thank you. — Sara Reams, email

Sara, I didn’t find a company that replaces the coating in a sink rack, but I did find a DIY product that repairs the plastic coating on dishwasher racks, which should be similar to your sink dish drainer. According to the manufacturer, ReRack is a white, flexible, specialty rubber coating that adheres to dishwasher and other vinyl coated racks. ReRack is formulated to touch up rusted and damaged dishwasher racks. It’s heat and water resistant and bonds to most precoated vinyl wire racks, including draining racks and shower caddies. You’ll find a 1-ounce bottle for $8.99 at

General Hardware, 4218 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, 404-237-5209.

When I was in Germany recently, I was introduced to a delicious roll called kurbiskern brotchen. It has pumpkin seeds in the roll as well as being heavily encrusted with pumpkin seeds. Would you know of a bakery where I could purchase this delectable bread? — Richard Schmidt, email

Richard, I found a local German bakery where the baker is happy to make kurbiskern brotchen rolls for you. Contact Village Corner German Restaurant and Bakery, 6655 James B. Rivers Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, 770498-0329. You’ll need to order a minimum of two dozen rolls at $1.50 each and give the bakery a week’s notice.

You can stop looking

With the holidays careening around the corner, readers have started looking for some of their favorite foods, including baked goods. Julie Freeman is searching for Sister Schubert’s Shareable bread brushed with honey and butter. Unfortunately, I spoke to someone at Sister Schubert’s, which is part of T. Marzetti Company, and found out that the bakery discontinued the slightly sweetened pullapart bread, and it didn’t offer any substitutions.
