What’s not working around metro Atlanta

-

Item: Tucker (DeKalb)

A reader wrote about a series of potholes in a congested location. Last year, complaints about potholes were one of the top complaints that concerned our readers and prompted them to seek our help in getting fixed.

“On the off-ramp of Ga. Highway 78 leading west at Hugh Howell near the Tucker city limits, there are several potholes of various sizes that are getting bigger daily. I have complained before and received no help. They have been there for over a year. This is in DeKalb County. I’d like them filled, or repave the whole ramp,” the reader wrote.

We sent the concerns to both DeKalb County and the DOT to see when the item would be fixed.

We’re continuing our series of looking at things that were not addressed by government officials last year. Along with potholes, we also had a number of residents contact us about water leaks.

In September, Mike Smith told us about one of those leaks in the city of Atlanta.

“There was a water leak in front of 360 7th Street NE, on Aug. 29. The city came and repaired the leak, but left a gravel pit. Stones fly and dust fills the air whenever a car drives by. There’s also a continuous water leak going down the street. I would greatly appreciate attention on this matter,” he wrote.

We sent Smith’s concern back to the city and will let you know when the water leak is fixed.
