1 AUTO RACING: Kyle Larson scored one of the biggest victories of his career in Tulsa, Okla., by ending an 0-for-12 streak to finally win the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals. Larson passed Christophe­r Bell with 17 laps in Saturday night’s main event to end his frustratin­g streak of futility and deny Bell a fourth consecutiv­e win in the prestigiou­s dirt race. Bell passed Larson on the final lap of last year’s Chili Bowl to hand the NASCAR star a crushing defeat.

2 SOCCER: Cyprus police have arrested a 30-year-old player in connection with a probe into alleged match-fixing in the country’s second-tier league and cup games. Police said the arrest was linked to two matches for which there was “heavy betting activity.” The developmen­t comes two days after the Cypriot soccer federation suspended all matches after a referee walkout because of a bombing attack against a colleague’s car. Federation officials will meet with referees’ associatio­n bosses today to see when matches can resume.

3 SKIING: Clement Noel skied through steadily falling snow to protect his first-run lead and win a World Cup slalom in Wengen, Switzerlan­d. Noel topped Henrik Kristoffer­sen, who retook the overall World Cup standings lead.

WINTER SPORTS: American 4 Hunter Church won his first World Cup bobsled medal, a bronze in a four-man race at historic Innsbruck, Austria. It was the first medal for the U.S. men in a bobsled race on foreign soil since Steven Holcomb captured bronze on the same track in 2017. Germany’s Francesco Friedrich won the race.

5 WINTER SPORTS: Italy’s Dominik Fischnalle­r won a World Cup men’s luge race in Lillehamme­r, Norway, and the European championsh­ip, adding to his run of success on the 1994 Olympic track. Fischnalle­r has six Cup wins, and three of them have come in Lillehamme­r.
