1 Back in court: Florida school shooting defendant Nikolas Cruz was back in court, this time for a hearing on charges that he attacked a corrections officer in jail. Broward Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer heard several motions but did not issue any rulings, instead deferring to another hearing Feb. 24.

2 NPR reporter banned: The State Department will not allow National Public Radio’s diplomatic correspondent on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s government airplane for an upcoming trip, which includes a stop in Ukraine, following the secretary’s outburst last week over being questioned about Ukraine during an interview with the network. 3 Artist dies: Jason Polan, an incessant sketcher whose eclectic drawings and art projects — one was called “The Every Piece of Art in the Museum of Modern Art Book” — made him one of the quirkiest and most prolific denizens of the New York art scene, died in New York. He was 37. His family said the cause was cancer.

4 Weinsteintrial: A former roommate of Harvey Weinstein accuser Mimi Haleyi corroborated her 2006 claim of sexual assault in brief testimony Tuesday.
