Luther Muhammad’s 22 points lead Ohio St. upset of No. 7 Maryland

Luther Muhammad scored 22 points to lead five Buckeyes in double figures as No. 25 Ohio State beat No. 7 Maryland 79-72 in Columbus, snapping the Terrapins’ nine-game winning streak. Ohio State (18-9, 8-8 Big Ten) beat a Top10 team for the fourth time this season. Aaron Wiggins led Maryland (22-5, 12-4) with 20 points but leading season scorer Jalen Smith was held to eight.

(At) Indiana 68, No. 9 Penn St. 60: Al Durham scored 14 points and Trayce Jackson-Davis had 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Hoosiers (18-9, 8-8 Big Ten). Lamar Stevens, plagued with foul trouble, led Penn State (20-7, 10-6) with 29 points. After winning eight in a row, the Nittany Lions have lost two in a row and seen their hopes for a Big Ten regular-season title diminish.

(At) No. 15 Creighton 81, No. 21 Butler 59: Marcus Zegarowski made all seven of his 3-pointers and finished with 25 points, and the Bluejays (22-6, 11-4 Big East) beat the Bulldogs for their fourth straight win over an AP Top 25 opponent. The Bluejays have won nine of 10 and remain one game behind conference-leading Seton Hall. Butler (199, 7-8), which dropped its third straight game, played the second half without season scoring leader Kamar Baldwin, who suffered a foot injury.

(At) No. 16 Seton Hall 81, St. John’s 65: Myles Powell scored 18 points, Sandro Mamukelash­vili added 16 with nine rebounds and the Pirates (20-7, 12-3 Big East) beat the Red Storm (14-13, 3-11).
