Event cancellations in and around metro Atlanta
As news of the coronavirus continues to develop, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution remains committed to monitoring events, festivals, venues, and things to do in metro Atlanta that are canceled or changed. Below is a running list of events in and around the city that have been altered because of a response to coronavirus concerns.
■ American Society on Aging: Organizers cancel Atlanta conference.
■ Atlanta Botanical Garden: The garden has canceled its March 20 Garden Party. It has postponed the grand opening events for its children’s gardens in Gainesville on March 20 and 21.
■ Atlanta Community
Food Bank: The annual Hunger Walk Run on Sunday is canceled because of COVID-19. The organization is holding a virtual walk, in place of the run.
■ American Craft Show:
Craft fair planned for Cobb Galleria Centre canceled.
■ Atlanta History Center:
Author Lori Gottlieb cancels upcoming Atlanta History Center talk.
■ Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade: “The Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade is canceling this year’s event due to the growing concerns about the COVID-19 virus.” — Via atlantastpats.com
■ Atlanta Motor Speedway: This weekend’s scheduled races in Hampton have been postponed.
■ Atlanta National College Fair: Atlanta National College Fair on Sunday canceled.
■ Atlanta Science Festival Expo: Atlanta Science Festival cancels expo due to coronavirus pandemic.
■ Atlanta Symphony Orchestra: Orchestra subs one violin maestro for another.
■ Avalon: Luck of Avalon St. Patrick’s Day event canceled over coronavirus concerns.
■ Avondale Estates events: All public events that were permitted by the city for the remainder of March and April will be postponed or canceled.

Blossom Festival: The festival and a 5K race scheduled for a week earlier, will no longer happen.
■ Buford: 2020 Spring Juried Art Exhibit Tannery Row Artist Colony canceled.
■ Cobb cities: Kennesaw and Smyrna cancel events and some public meetings.
■ Cobb Galleria Centre:
Several events have been canceled, including the Model Train Show and Atlanta Home Show.
■ CNN Studio Tours: CNN temporarily suspends studio tours.
■ Dad’s Garage: Dad’s Garage pushes carnival fundraiser to late summer.
■ Georgia Chamber of Commerce: Georgia Chamber postpones upcoming events.
■ Georgia Tech: Georgia Tech Cognitive Aging conference postponed.
■ Georgia World Congress Center: CEFGA CareerExpo, which introduces middle school and high school students to building trades, has been canceled.
■ Fox Theatre: NPR’s taping of“Wait Wait...Don’t Tell Me!” canceled.
■ Hinman Dental Meeting:
Annual dental meeting held in Atlanta canceled.
■ High Museum of Art:
The region’s premiere museum is closed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic. “Will close to the public effective immediately and will remain closed as we continue to assess and monitor developments.”
■ Infinite Energy Arena:
Reba McEntire postpones tour until summer.
■ Irish Fest: Norcross’ Irish Fest today and its two Easter Egg Hunts on April 11 are canceled.
■ John Lewis celebration:
80th birthday party for congressman is canceled.
■ Kenny Chesney postpones: MercedesBenz Stadium show among rescheduled dates.
■ Record Store Day: The spring retail push for indie record stores moves to summer.
■ Rescue Dog Games:
The Piedmont Park canine gathering is postponed until fall.

The Roberto Plano Piano Recital on Sunday will be
rescheduled

■ State Farm Arena, André Rieu: Cancels remainder of tour, including State Farm Arena.
■ State Farm Arena, Erykah Badu and Common: Concert postponed.
■ The Masters: Postponed. No rescheduled date has been set.
■ Tour deCatur: The 5K fundraising race for the Decatur Education Foundation today has been postponed.
■ Tucker Chili CookOff: Now in its ninth year of operation, the Tucker Chili Cook-Off is being postponed.
■ V-103 Live: The March 28 concert at State Farm Arena has been postponed.
■ The World Natural Hair and Healthy Lifestyle
Event: Taliah Waajid World Natural Hair Show is being postponed. Guests can opt to have their tickets transferred to another event in September.
■ Zac Brown Band: Zac Brown Band postpones spring dates on “The Owl” tour.
