1 COLLEGE FOOTBALL: A Washington State player was found dead in his apartment by an officer who responded to a call for help involving “breathing problems,” Pullman police Chief Gary Jenkins said. Jenkins said there were no signs of foul play and that the Whitman County coroner will determine the cause of death for 22-year-old Bryce Beekman, the senior defensive back who was found Tuesday.

2 SOCCER: Carli Lloyd — a two-time women’s world player of the year, two-time World Cup champion and the only player to score the winning goal in two Olympics — had planned to make the Tokyo Games her curtain call this year, but with their postponeme­nt because of the coronaviru­s, Lloyd now said she plans to stick around another year with the hope of grabbing one more gold medal.

3 PRO BASKETBALL: Minnesota center Karl-Anthony Towns says his mother is hospitaliz­ed and in a medically induced coma after contractin­g the coronaviru­s. Towns talked about the condition of his mother, Jacqueline Cruz, Wednesday on his Instagram page. He urged his followers to take COVID-19 seriously and practice social distancing.

4 PRO BASKETBALL: Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is buying the Forum for $400 million, ending the billionair­e’s legal fight with the Madison Square Garden Co. and clearing the way to build a new arena for his NBA team down the street in Inglewood.

5 AUTO RACING: NASCAR said one of its employees at Atlanta Motor Speedway two weeks ago has tested positive for the coronaviru­s. NASCAR said the individual has been receiving medical care and all potentiall­y exposed have been told to selfquaran­tine. NASCAR was at Atlanta scheduled to race March 15 without spectators, but two days prior to the race, it was postponed.
