Georgia Department of Transportation contractors are scheduled to begin rehabilitation activities on the Liberty Road Bridge over I-20 in Douglas County on Monday.

GDOT crews plan to place message boards near the bridge to give motorists advance notice of the upcoming traffic impacts.

Crews also will install temporary barriers in the shoulder lanes on I-20 eastbound andwestbound near the Liberty Road interchange in advance of the maintenance work.

To complete the work, Liberty Road Bridge will be closed to traffic for an estimated 30 to 45 days to ensure safety for workers and drivers. During that time, traffic will be detoured on I-20 eastbound and westbound around the closure.
