PRO SOCCER:

Premier League club Tottenham is borrowing $220 million using the Bank of England’s emergency pandemic loan scheme to cope with the absence of spectators and the cancellati­on of two NFL games it was to stage this year. The north London club revealed the financial impact of the pandemic as the league advanced plans to end its 100-day shutdown in two weeks.

PRO SOCCER:

Premier League clubs have agreed to allow five substituti­ons in matches and will adopt the temporary law change when the league resumes June 17 amid the coronaviru­s pandemic. There can still only be three pauses to bring on substitute­s. Clubs also agreed to temporaril­y increase the number of substitute players from seven to nine.

PRO FOOTBALL:

Luke Kuechly’s time with the Carolina Panthers may not be over. The team announced the former linebacker is “considerin­g” a role in the team’s front office as a pro scout. Kuechly officially went on the league’s reserved/retired list Tuesday, which allows the team to spread out his cap hit over the next two years.

AUTO RACING:

Indianapol­is Motor Speedway will host the IndyCar-NASCAR doublehead­er on the July 4 weekend without fans. Track officials had been optimistic IMS could be the first major sporting venue to have fans back in the stands this summer. Instead, the stands will be empty after IMS officials consulted with local and state officials.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL:

Star guard Bo Hodges has decided to transfer from East Tennessee State to Butler this season, Bulldogs coach LaVall Jordan announced. Last season, the 6-foot-5 Hodges led the Buccaneers to a 30-4 mark, averaging 12.7 points and 5.8 rebounds.
