The Henry County Parks and Recreation Department will not be operating day camps this summer at any of its facilities.

County officials said that the decision was made “after careful consideration” and “in light of the guidelines outlined in Gov. Brian Kemp’s most recent order regarding summer camps,” saying that camp would not be feasible under current conditions.

“While this decision was not easy, it is definitely the right decision at this time, given the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic and the county’s ability to ensure that all guidelines can be met,” said County Manager Cheri Hobson-Matthews.
