1 WOMEN’S PRO BASKETBALL:

New York Liberty guard Asia Durr, who is from Douglasvil­le and played at St. Pius X Catholic in Atlanta, will miss the WNBA season after testing positive for the coronaviru­s June 8. The former Louisville star said she hasn’t fully recovered.

2 PRO FOOTBALL:

San Francisco signed CB Jamar Taylor to a one-year contract and waived CB Teez Tabor. Taylor appeared in 12 combined games for the Falcons and Seahawks last season.

3 PRO BASKETBALL:

The Denver Nuggets promoted assistant GM Calvin Booth to general manager. He succeeds Arturas Karnisovas, who left in April to become the Chicago Bulls’ top decision-maker.

4 OBITUARY:

Former South Carolina running back and Athletic Director King Dixon died Monday in Columbia, S.C. He was 83. The university said Dixon had fought pancreatic cancer. Dixon played for the team from 1956-58, returned as AD in 1988 and oversaw South Carolina’s entrance into the SEC in 1992. He was appointed to the university’s board of trustees this year.

5 PRO BASKETBALL:

The Houston Rockets signed free-agent forward Luc Mbah a Moute, 33, a 12-year NBA veteran who has played for the Rockets (once before), Bucks, Kings, Timberwolv­es and 76ers. He hasn’t played in the league since the Clippers released him in April 2019.

6 PRO WOMEN’S GOLF:

The R&A is going ahead with the Women’s British Open without spectators Aug. 20-23. It would be the first LPGA major this year. Qualifying was canceled and the R&A says the field will be comprised of top players from the world ranking and top performers at recent events.

7 PRO BASEBALL:

Dodgers RHP Jimmy Nelson will undergo surgery on his lower back and miss this season.
